The design contraints are, in fact, two-fold. One, the flow rate has to be 25 gallons per
minute, and two, the surface area is a single layer of filtration and the total size of the
filter is restricted to the actual size of the engine compartment. The question then is to
ask, "How can we improve main flow filtration?"
