The Filtakleen Fuel Additive is a fuel package containing oil-soluble organometallic compounds of iron and other materials. It is designed to be completely soluble in fuel oils and can be added directly to fuel in storage.

How Does It Work?
The Filtakleen Fuel Additive and Catalyst provides an increase in surface area of fuel droplets to increase the burn rate, creating a more efficient use of fuel. The additive is engineered to lower the ignition point of fuel by as much as 400 degrees F, therefore providing longer residence time for the combustion process. This results in less carbon and smoke emitted from exhaust stacks due to unburned fuel. Lower fuel usage or more horsepower and torque will be achieved when using this product.
The Combustion Improver contains an effective catalyst which lowers the required energy of activation essential for the combustion of carbon-based fuels, thus providing less carbon deposits, soot, smoke and particulate matter.

Fuel oil begins to repolymerize as soon as it is refined. Polymerization forms submicronic particles. As the process continues, particles become larger and agglomerate, forming macroscopic sludge, which plugs filters and injectors and eventually renders the fuel unpumpable. Filtakleen Fuel Additive disperses existing macroscopic sludge, retards further polymerization and permits fuel to be combusted efficiently.
